Why I Began Writing

Hi, I’m Erin.

I’m a gym manager, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and volunteer firefighter, currently training for my first Ironman. My background is rooted in weightlifting, but over time, I’ve been drawn to the world of endurance—long runs, quiet miles, and the mental battles that come with them. While I still lift, my focus has shifted from chasing only strength to building resilience over time and distance. Three years ago, I discovered Stoic philosophy. What started as a curiosity became a daily practice—and eventually, a quiet revolution in how I approach effort, discomfort, and growth. Stoicism has reshaped how I train, how I lead, and how I show up in every area of my life. Meditations and Miles is where I share those intersections: between movement and meaning, discipline and detachment, speed and stillness. It’s not just about going farther—it’s about going deeper. You’ll find reflections on training, philosophy, and the lessons that come from pushing both body and mind. Whether you’re an athlete, a thinker, or someone just trying to live with more purpose—I’m glad you’re here.
